INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES WELCOMES NATHAN SEGREST

 

Our Information Management Services (IMS) Department welcomes Nathan Segrest, who joined the team in early January as the new System Administrator.  Nathan has previous experience in higher education IT.  Prior to joining SSC, Nathan worked in A&M’s Department of Statistics.  And before that, he was employed by Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches as a Technical Support Specialist.  Nathan also studied biology at Stephen F. Austin State. 

 

Nathan resides in College Station with his wife and their four boys who are ages 8, 6, 4 and 2!  The family has an old rescue dog, Sadie, who is half Beagle, half Australian Shepherd.  In the rare moments when Nathan has some time for himself, he enjoys catching up with friends, playing cards or pool, sometimes going on trips and volunteering for his church.  Eventually he plans to start working on his Dad’s 1965 Mustang.  Nathan’s favorite quote is a good reminder for us all: Be kind, because everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Nathan likes that his job makes him consistently learn things and improve himself as well as the place around him.  He’s responsible for the systems that run the printers, the time clocks, the ticketing system, and others.  Nathan says, “It’s extremely fulfilling to know that I’m helping and improving a system that supports so many people.”
