Our fifth biannual customer appreciation lunch took place on Monday, June 12 from in the MSC Gates Ballroom.  It focused on our Custodial Services and Grounds Management departments.  Madlene Maxwell, Custodial Assistant Manager, spoke on SSC’s role in the recycling process across campus.  Grounds Management Resident Regional Manager, Don Crawford, informed the audience about the Big Belly machines across campus and the role Grounds plays in recycling on campus.  He updated folks on the irrigation system renovation, which is almost complete.

We introduced a fairly new Utilities & Energy Services employee, Shelia McQueen, who serves as the Solid Waste Minimization Specialist.  Shelia is in the process of meeting with building proctors to discuss recycling in their buildings.  If anyone needs to get in touch with Shelia, she can be reached at or (979) 862-2069.

SSC Graphic Designer Barbara Musgrove designed extremely creative centerpieces to tie in both the Custodial and Grounds themes.  She decorated an industrial size roll of toilet paper and put colorful tissue paper in the center along with pens shaped like flowers that guests could take as favors.

A big thanks to all of our customers who attended the lunch.  We’re planning on hosting another customer appreciation event in early 2018.
