Yung Ja Brinkley, or “Miss Kim” as everyone calls her, is a custodian assigned to Crew H. She works on the first floor of the Memorial Student Center and she covers other areas as well. On a Friday in mid-June, Miss Kim came to work (on her day off!) to help because Crew H was short staffed that particular day. While completing her regular tasks, Miss Kim came across a 12 year old boy who had strayed away from his parents in the MSC. Miss Kim did not hesitate to comfort the child; she assured him that everything was going to be okay and that she would find his parents. She took him to the first floor MSC information desk, where Miss Kim explained the situation and asked for assistance in finding his parents. Within a matter of minutes, members of the University Center staff were able to reunite this young boy with his parents. Everyone was happy and safe!
Miss Kim went above and beyond the call of duty as a custodian. She was able to apply her motherly instincts and the safety procedures that are instilled in all Custodial associates on a daily basis.
Miss Kim is an extremely positive asset to Crew H and
