WELCOME TO SERENA BROWN!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Serena Brown who recently started as the new Zone A Maintenance Coordinator.  Serena has a background in administrative work; she is a Certified Administrative Professional and a notary.  For over 14 years, Serena has been an Executive Assistant.  Prior to relocating to the Huntsville area, Serena worked for SSC at Kilgore College from September 2015 until June 2016 as the Administrative Assistant.  A native Texan, Serena was born in San Antonio and raised in Houston since she was eight years old.  Serena and her husband of one year, Steve, currently reside in Riverside, which is northeast of Huntsville on Lake Livingston.

 

Serena has two grown children.  Kris, 37, is a ‘99 graduate of TAMU and resides in Houston.  Cryslin, 29, has been married for two years.  Serena says she’s looking forward to grandchildren soon!

 

In her spare time, Serena enjoys motorcycle rides with her husband and watching NASCAR.  She also collects bracelets.  Serena is a member of a group called LIPS, which stands for Ladies Into Purchasing Stock.  This is a ladies buyers group at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo™ based in Houston, whose mission is to raise money to support the youth of Texas in their agricultural and artistic endeavors. 

 

When asked what her favorite vacation destination would be, Serena answered,  "anyplace with a body of water and/or mountains.”  Mexican food, especially queso, is Serena’s top cuisine choice. “Breathe, just breathe” is Serena’s favorite saying.  We agree that’s a great one and a mantra that everyone could adopt!  Serena says the best advice she’s ever received is from Romans 12:19: Let it go and get along; I’ll do the judging and take care of it.

So far, Serena says what she likes best about her job is interacting with the Zone A guys.
