SSC would like to welcome Natalie Garcia who started several weeks ago as a part-time administrative assistant for Engineering, Design & Construction Services (EDCS). Natalie has done administrative support work for many years. In 2010, she decided to take a different route in life and go to hair school. Natalie says, “It was a great decision and I am really thankful for all it has taught me!” She and a friend co-own a small salon in the BCS area.
The youngest of four children, Natalie was born and raised in Bryan and has lived in both Bryan and College Station as well as a little town called Cut and Shoot, right outside of Conroe.
Natalie has been married to husband Albert for 10 years. She has a son Andres (19) and a daughter Lorin (17). She comments, “They are everything to me! Watching them come into their own and being responsible, respectable young adults makes me really proud of them!” Peaches (2) and Buck (4) are Natalie’s fur babies; she says they are both very sweet and spoiled.
When she’s not doing hair or working as an admin, Natalie can be found hanging out with her family and spending as much time as she can with her kids. She and Albert like taking spontaneous mini road trips to enjoy different sceneries. Even though she admits she can’t sing a lick, Natalie likes to sing karaoke and also enjoys playing pool.
A few of Natalie’s favorites include any place with a beach for a vacation destination, Cheesecake Factory for a favorite restaurant and of course chocolate because it has to be a favorite, right?!
Natalie shares that the best advice she’s ever received is, “Never wait for things to happen, go out and make them happen yourself.” We can tell she has really proven this to be true, especially with juggling two careers.
Like most new EDCS associates, Natalie comments that her team is very friendly and welcoming, which she says is the best part of her job so far.
Glad to have you on staff, Natalie, and we look forward to getting to know you even better!
