SSC WELCOMES GROUNDS ASSOCIATES
Grounds Management has hired three coordinators to help keep things running smoothly in the various shops across campus.
Kelsie Terry (pictured right) is the coordinator at building 747, located on College Ave. right next to the greenhouses. Kelsie was previously employed at Crowley Custom Homes, where she wore a lot of hats serving as an office manager, personal assistant and also helping with the company’s social media. Born and raised in Houston, Kelsie moved to Aggieland after marrying husband Bradley. The couple recently celebrated their first anniversary and did it up big with a Caribbean cruise. The couple has a 100 pound fur baby, Osias, who is a 2 year old German shepherd. Singing, painting and traveling (Canada is her favorite vacation destination) rank high on Kelsie’s hobby list. Some of her favorites include seafood, Texas Roadhouse, flamingos and cactus plants. One of Kelsie’s favorite quotes is, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” Kelsie is enjoying her new position and says the best parts about her job are learning something new every day and meeting new people.
Elias “Eli” Medrano (pictured left) serves as the coordinator for Rec Sports, West Campus and Tree Crew and is located in Penberthy. He helps Grounds Managers Brian Carey and Brandon Morgan. Prior to joining SSC, Eli worked as a staffing consultant, a broadband technician and a banker. Eli takes pride in his communication skills. He can present his ideas effectively in person as well as in writing. He says he’s worked hard to sharpen those skills because he feels that the value of a great idea is lost if he is unable to present it in a way that others can understand. Eli is also a real team player. He says, “There is no room for a ‘me first’ attitude in the workplace and we all have to work together in order to meet objectives.” Well said, Eli! Born and raised in Bryan/College Station, Eli resides in College Station with his wife Cynthia and their four beautiful children: Leyla (12), Luis (10), Laura (9) and Caleb (6). The couple definitely has their hands full but they wouldn’t change it for the world; Eli is a family man through and through! He and Cynthia are the children’s ministry leaders at their church, Momentum BCS. Eli is also a musician and even finds time to practice playing bass guitar despite his hectic schedule. Eli plays bass for church as well as recreational performances. He is excited to be part of Grounds Management!
Gnet Acosta (pictured center) is the Grounds Coordinator for the 970 building, which is located next door to Facilities Services on Agronomy Road. She has been in her position about five weeks now and is learning a lot.
Welcome Grounds Coordinators! We’re thankful to have you on our team!
