SECOND ANNUAL TX ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

The second Texas Arbor Day celebration was a huge success! Thankfully this year's Texas Arbor Day brought more sunshine than 2016.  This event was hosted by Grounds Management, specifically the Arboricultural Team, led by Supervisor Joseph Booth.  Our co-sponsors were Chartwells, the Office of Sustainability and Andy Duffie of the Aggie Century Tree Project.  In addition to each of the sponsors having a table, other participants were Shruthi Srinivasan of the Texas A&M Forest Service, TAMU Horticulture Club, Society of American Foresters, Greg Bailey and Bill Page of the Cushing Library and Archives, Joseph Johnson of The Gardens, Jeff Lehde of The Plant People and both the City of Bryan and City of College Station Departments of Recreation.

Joseph Booth and his team planted a tree in honor of Texas Arbor Day.  The event included delicious sandwiches and harvest water courtesy of Chartwells, 10 drawings throughout the event for Century Tree seedlings and tree climbing demos from our Arboricultural Team.   We will be holding this event again next year.  Mark your calendars for Friday 11/2/18!
