REMEMBERING TIM PITTMAN
We are saddened to announce that our associate, Tim Pittman, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, January 23. A Bryan native, he joined Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist church in Bryan at an early age. In 1978, Tim graduated from Bryan High School, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. He wrestled for the Boys Club, ran track and field in addition to playing basketball and football for Bryan High. After high school, Tim joined the Army, where he served until 1982. Before joining SSC, Tim worked for Texas Instruments, Blinn College and O.I. Analytics.
In 2013, Tim started with SSC Maintenance as a Warehouse Attendant, where his primary tasks included receiving/stocking, order picking and making deliveries to the shops.
He leaves behind his wife, daughter and son, granddaughters and many other family members and friends.
Tim’s family put together a beautiful booklet of photos, poems, messages from his family along with a descriptive obituary, where we found out a lot about Tim: “Timothy enjoyed listening to music, dancing with his wife, going for walks, talking to his children and grandchildren daily and watching football and basketball with family and friends. He was a great fan of Texas A&M and Dallas Cowboy football, win or lose. He enjoyed cooking BBQ ribs for his family on special occasions and sometimes just because he knew how much his family loved his BBQ. Everyone who knew him raved about his ribs. Timothy was the ultimate gentleman, who had a great sense of humor, and exemplified the true example of a family man that loved his family unconditionally.”
Warehouse Operations Manager Richard Longley reflected that, “Tim was the type of person who quietly went about getting his job done with minimal fuss and without calling attention to himself.”
SSC will not be the same without Tim. We extend our condolences to his family and keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
