EVANS LIBRARY PHASE 3 RE-IMAGINED
Phase 3 of the Re-Imagine the Library project consisted of the following: renovation of the main Evans Library building first floor service desk and front end areas, all of the second floor public spaces, renovation of the Library annex building first floor service desk and front end areas and the entire fourth floor of the Annex. Most of the project was focused on renovating public use spaces and classrooms with a focusing on improving student study spaces. However, the renovation also included relocating the preservation lab to the fourth floor of the annex. The new preservation lab is a state-of-the-art facility, which is the envy of most other libraries throughout the country.
Construction started in January 2017 and was completed in December 2017 with a fully functioning, occupied space throughout the project. Renovations were designed by HBM architects and the construction drawings were completed by BRW architects. Construction was completed by SEDALCO Contractors out of Fort Worth. The SSC Engineering, Design and Construction Services (EDCS) project team consisted of Lead Project Manager, Dennis Gray, Project Manager 2 Jim Uehlin, Project Superintendent Keith Barton, and Project Inspector Shane Johnson.
Great job to this team on all of their hard work!
