SSC SPRING CUSTOMER APPRECIATION LUNCH
We held our spring customer appreciation lunch on March 27 at the Equine Complex Auditorium. It was a very well attended event and guests enjoyed a Texas Smokehouse lunch catered by Chartwells and a chance to win some great prizes. Custodial Services Regional Director of Operations Ted Dawson, Assistant Manager II Madlene Maxwell and Safety/Training Coordinator Lou Jacques provided a very informative presentation on recycling, staffing & turnover, training & development, safety, services/items included in the contract and cleaning specs (which can be found on our website: https://facilities.tamu.edu/custodial/). In lieu of a Grounds presentation, TAMU Administration asked that Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) be given time to provide information on what they do and services offered. Sustainability was incorporated into the lunch. Instead of using disposable plates, utensils and cups, we used china, real silverware and glassware (thanks, Chartwells!). Barbara Musgrove created the guest favors which included handmade soap from Jenkins Sunshine Farm out of Montgomery (https://www.goodcleanlivin.com/), a packet of wildflower seeds and a mini bottle of Purell hand sanitizer. Grounds provided the beautiful centerpieces, which they grew in their greenhouses on South College. ErgoGenesis Workplace Solutions (https://www.bodybilt.com/)was the featured sponsor. They donated our two big prizes: an ergonomic desk chair and a maestro standing desk unit. Susan Gater won the chair and Tom Reber was the lucky winner of the desk unit.
SSC is extremely appreciative of all of the hard work that building proctors and facility managers do on a daily basis. We are proud to work with such a great bunch of people and want every proctor and facility manager to know that we are here for them!
