On March 20, the Office of Sustainability hosted its annual breakfast. The Office’s Director Kelly Wellman, Assistant Manager Ben Kalscheur and Operations Coordinator Lara Hendrickson updated attendees, ranging from a wide variety of departments and colleges around campus. As a result of continued collaboration across campus, Texas A&M University maintained the gold rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. The association’s rating program is known as STARS and Texas A&M has been participating in STARS since 2010. SSC departments, especially Grounds Management and Custodial Services, have worked with the Office of Sustainability on reporting their sustainability related efforts which goes way beyond recycling! Barbara Musgrove and Campus Arborist Joseph Booth were recognized with a STARS exemplary credit.

SSC is thankful for our wonderful partnership with the Office of Sustainability and looks forward in helping the STARS rating increase even further.
