PHILLIP ZELLNER JOINS GROUNDS AS REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

SSC would like to welcome Phillip Zellner, who recently took on the role of Regional Director of Operations for Grounds Management. Phillip knows that the appearance of the campus grounds are the first impression for anyone visiting Texas A&M. He believes that the landscape is a key component of the student experience and is committed to providing world class campus grounds.
Phillip worked for nearly a decade at Kiawah Island Golf Resort (KIGR) near Charleston, SC, where for the last seven years of his tenure, he served as the principal horticultural consultant and Director of Landscaping. While at KIGR, Phillip was able to build an outstanding team and greatly improve the resort’s parks and the grounds of their 5 Star, 5 Diamond hotel, The Sanctuary. Phillip also was responsible for re-certification of the hotel grounds as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
Most recently Phillip served as the Director of Grounds Management at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania.
Phillip’s work experience also includes the South Carolina Botanical Gardens, The Walker Course at Clemson University, Keowee Key Golf and Country Club, and Reynold’s Plantation in Greensboro Georgia.
Phillip is a LEED Green Associate, a past member of the South Carolina Nursery Landscape Association, The International Society of Arboriculture and The Charleston Horticultural Society.
Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science in horticulture from Clemson University. He met his wife Lindsay at Clemson. They were married in 2008 and have three children, Viviann (7), Maeve (5) and Zebediah (1). Phillip enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. His other interests include golf, hunting and fishing. Phillip has been making his way around campus and already has met many of our customers. He looks forward to meeting many more folks on campus in the near future.
Welcome, Phillip!
