JIMMY HICKS NAMED SSC UNIT DIRECTOR AT BASTROP ISD
We would like to congratulate Jimmy Hicks on his promotion to SSC Unit Director at Bastrop ISD, a brand new account for SSC. In his new role, Jimmy will oversee Custodial, Grounds, Maintenance and Projects at Bastrop ISD and surrounding areas including the stadium, baseball fields and support buildings.
In November 2015, Jimmy joined SSC at Texas A&M-College Station as a Maintenance Operations Manager, coming to us from SSC at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. In his time on the College Station campus, Jimmy has overseen various Maintenance zones/shops, most recently Rec Sports, Athletics and Zones A-D. When asked about his favorite parts of working on the College Station campus, Jimmy says, without hesitation, “all the great people here! I have loved learning from my upper management what things work and what things don't. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to develop relationships with the TAMU folks that have helped us to forge ahead.” Jimmy is a graduate of Texas A&M and says he loves making A&M a better place and will also miss being on a university campus every day.
Jimmy is an example that if one puts in the hard work and effort and is determined to move up within the company, that it is indeed possible. When asked what advice he would give to others looking to move up within SSC, Jimmy shared, “Do not think you can't move up. There are countless opportunities. Learn from your bosses, take in all that is offered in training and look for opportunities that match your skill set! You are what makes this organization great and how you use that is how successful you will be.”
Jimmy says he's really going to miss all of the folks with whom he's worked and says, "I hope that I gave you some insight while I was here to make you better at what you do. And remember you are the spotlight for much of what is happening in this company. YOU are the standard. And if you get lonely, I still have an email and Bastrop is not that far away. I expect my folks to keep up the good work and I wish you all the best of luck! Gig 'em!!!"
