GROUNDS REPAIRS AREAS SURROUNDING FIVE RESIDENCE HALLS
Grounds was busy with projects right up until move-in weekend. Most of their work was done around Davis-Gary, Moses, and Clements Halls and they also worked on projects around Legett and Krueger Halls. These projects were truly a team effort from various Grounds teams. Our Heavy Equipment (HEQ) team had help from the Irrigation team along with several associates who work for Grounds Assistant Director, Brandon Morgan. All 7 Landscape Construction (LCON) associates worked extremely hard to get so much accomplished in such little time. The teams fit about three weeks’ worth of work into about a week and a half! At Davis-Gary, Moses and Clements, the teams completed about 20 pallets worth of sod repairs, replaced dozens of plants (close to 100), repaired pavers, bike racks, fixed irrigation, and corrected drainage. At Legett Hall, the teams weeded and redressed all beds with mulch and pruned plants. They also installed a new section of mulch and new decomposed granite in a small area. At Krueger, ruts were fixed and multiple areas were redressed with fresh mulch. There is still work to do, but working together these teams were able to get the area looking good for move-in. HEQ Supervisor Randy Harrison stated, “Our customers were very pleased with the work and I couldn't be more proud of everyone who helped.”
Way to go, Grounds, on a true team effort to get the job done!
