Engineering, Design & Construction Services (EDCS) Project Manager II, Clint Cooper, has been working on a historic preservation study for the H.J. (Bill) and Reta Haynes Engineering Building. The scope of work includes performing ceiling tile, drywall and flooring removal and re-installation back to original status to assist in the historic survey at this building.

This set of Preservation Guidelines are prepared as a means of guiding the preservation of the building’s historic features while enabling the introduction of new mechanical and electrical systems, life safety and accessibility improvements, asbestos abatement and other necessary changes to keep the building safe and functional. The goal is to preserve as much of the Heritage Building as possible, both on the exterior and the interior. The Guidelines are intended as a tool to alert the design team, maintenance personnel, contractors and building owners, of the historic and architecturally significant materials and elements in the building.
