CUSTODIAL SUCCESS AT THE NEW ZACHRY ENGINEERING EDUCATION COMPLEX

 

It’s been a long time coming but the newly renovated Zachry building is now up and running! Zachry presented a unique challenge for Custodial because all new staff had to be hired.  Additionally, Custodial associates who have been here for a while were transferred to Zachry to get the building ready for the grand opening. With over 500,000 square feet and very distinct surfaces to clean and maintain, it was important that Custodial staffed this building with experienced staff and a leadership team that would oversee the make ready operations. Unit Director Sheila Robinson and Custodial Supervisor Steve Johnson have a combined total of more than 40 years in the Custodial industry and they welcomed each challenge with a plan.  Sheila and Steve ensured the plans were executed with the outcome of total success. 


Custodial Regional Director of Operations, Ted Dawson, had these words to say about his Custodial teams and individuals that made the grand opening of Zachry a success for SSC and TAMU: “I would like to send a big thank you out to everyone who helped us in any way, shape, form or fashion to get the Zachry Engineering Education Complex up and running. Whether your contribution was working on floors, cleaning restrooms, windows or doors, loaning us employees, helping us to staff the building, helping to get employees transferred, loaning us equipment and supplies or by simply giving us a ride, you were a part of the success of this team effort.  The September 7th building dedication went off without a hitch!  We are proud of all of our accomplishments in such a short period of time and we could not have done this without you. I would like to thank our awesome team, who no matter what the situation, always come through!  As always, I am extremely proud to have the privilege to lead this amazing team.”
