THIRD ANNUAL TEXAS ARBOR DAY A SUCCESS
The third annual Texas Arbor Day celebration was a huge success! This event was hosted by Grounds Management, specifically the Arboricultural Team, led by Supervisor and Campus Arborist Joseph Booth. Our co-sponsors were Chartwells, Andy Duffie of the Aggie Century Tree Project and Kind Snacks. In addition to each of the sponsors having a table, other participants were the TAMU Office of Sustainability, Texas A&M Forest Service, Cushing Library and Archives, Aggie Replant, The Gardens at Texas A&M, the City of College Station Department of Recreation and Keep Brazos Beautiful. In honor of Texas Arbor Day, Joseph Booth and his team planted a tree right near the Academic Building.
The event included whole fruit and water stations courtesy of Chartwells, full size KIND snacks courtesy of a company rep present, six drawings for Century Tree seedlings and tree climbing demos from our Arboricultural Team. We will be holding this event again next year. Mark your calendars for Friday 11/1/19!
