JAMES MOORE NAMED CUSTODIAL GEM OF THE YEAR
L-R; Ted Dawson, Regional Director of Operations; James Moore, Warehouse Associate; Walter Draper, Warehouse Supervisor
Custodial Services is proud to announce that Warehouse/Equipment Repair associate James Moore was selected to be the Division GEM of the Year for SSC. This is a great honor and James is so deserving of this award. James is responsible for repairing and servicing all custodial equipment on our campus and he takes his job very seriously. He is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service to his customers, who happen to also be his co-workers as he serves all of the Custodial crews. James does not take shortcuts and he services equipment as if it were his own. James’ supervisor, Walter Draper, had this to say about James in his nomination:
This past year James has repaired 923 pieces of equipment and assembled 175 pieces of new equipment. He has taken on the responsibility of pricing and ordering parts and has done so with best prices and within budget. James is very skilled in troubleshooting and repairing all kinds of equipment, many of which are new to him. He has done outsourced repairs on Park West equipment which generated revenue for the company. He also does training for the Custodial crews, especially scrubber operation and maintenance. Since James has been here, we have done most repairs in-house on a daily basis. James has perfect attendance and begins work as soon as he arrives in the morning. In March 2018, James was named GEM of the Month. He will continue to save money for the company by doing most repairs in-house with a timely turnaround so the crews have equipment available to do their job. Additionally, James will continue to search out the best prices for parts in order to stay within budget and save money for the company. Also, he will continue to train the crews for optimum performance of their equipment and will continue serving as our safety representative. Thank you, James, for all you do for Custodial Services. We feel truly blessed to have you on our team!
