SSC ATTENDS COMPASS COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Each year Compass Group leaders come together for a one-day event, called a Compass Community Council, for each Zone. SSC at TAMU is part of Zone 6; this year’s Zone 6 meeting was held in Fort Worth at the impressive Texas Motor Speedway. SSC at TAMU attendees included Richard Gentry, Regional VP, Ted Dawson, Regional Director of Operations-Custodial, Paul Tisch, Regional Director of Operations-Maintenance, Phillip Zellner-Regional Director of Operations-Grounds, Mack Kay, Master Electrical Specialist, and Peggy Cruse, HR Manager. Richard Gentry and Ted Dawson attended the day conference portion. The welcome and Compass Group overview was given by SSC President Seth Ferriell. TouchPoint Division VP, Michael Madigan, then explained how Zone 6 is leading the way, including how SSC has brought in a good portion of revenue generated for the region, the most by any Compass company! Another event during the day portion was coffee talk, conducted by Andrew Lange, CFO of North America Compass Group, and Susie Weintraub, CEO of Envision Group. They had a round table discussion led by Julie Sajda, SVP Strategic Development of Envision Group. Julie would ask questions and the two panel members would give their answers. After lunch, keynote speaker Michael Waltrip, NASCAR veteran, shared an emotional and inspiring story of his life. After a day of special events and breakout sessions, the evening event began with an opening speech by CEO Gary Green. Mr. Green presented some insightful facts regarding Compass’ 2018 accomplishments and plans for moving forward. This led to a line of Compass leaders speaking about an array of topics that included company financials, people strategy, and acknowledging associates with 25+ years of employment, and much more. After the meeting, attendees moved over to where food and drinks were served at the Speedway’s 1 of 2 amazing 22, 000 square foot garages. Chartwells and Levy presented a variety of tasty foods for attendees to sample. Many of us used this time as an opportunity to meet and mingle with new people and learn more about the Compass organization.
